The Digital Media BA(Hons) student, who graduates this month, has been snapped up by the Crawley-based digital marketing agency as a web designer and developer, and she will be utilising the skills learned while at the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ.
Charlotte said: “The degree introduced me to many skills for the digital media industry and inspired me to discover my passion for web design and development. The course regularly exposed me to industry professionals, placement opportunities and relevant conferences in the local web community – these were fantastic opportunities.”
Charlotte is one of a number of students from the university’s School of Computing, Engineering and Mathematics with prospects in digital marketing.
Dr Martin De Saulles, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ digital marketing lecturer, said: "Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ is at the centre of this rapidly-growing sector and we work closely with a number of leading companies to make sure our graduates have the skills they require.
"Working with leading practitioners in this field really adds value to the lectures and workshops. We aim to provide our students with up-to-date and relevant skills underpinned by solid academic rigour and developing ties with industry is a great way to do this. Our relationships with local companies like RocketMill, BozBoz and SiteVisibility really help students make the connections between academia and industry."
Dr De Saulles said Rocketmill had made valuable contributions to teaching through guest lectures and workshops.
RocketMill Director, Yousaf Sekander, himself a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ graduate, has shown cutting-edge tools and techniques that agencies like his use and explained the challenges and opportunities of this rapidly changing sector.
